Mission Statement

To provide quality RAD syllabus coaching through classes and videos to students (of any age, gender) | adults | ballet enthusiasts who are wanting to learn RAD syllabus, improve their ballet in techniques, musicality and performance and eventually sit for RAD examinations, if they wish to.

In the beginning…
I first created this page for my ballet students whom I am currently teaching RAD syllabus at a private girls’ school and wanting to take RAD examinations. I have been predominantly teaching RAD at a private girl's school for the past 7 years, and I only get 1 hour per week of teaching the student(s) doing examination syllabus. There are no weekend classes, so most of the classes are held after school as extracurricular activities.

This is obviously not enough classes and practise, especially for those students doing High Grade syllabus or vocational syllabus as they would need more practise, on pointe, especially. Often, they would ask me to record the exercises for the syllabus that they are learning so that they can practise at home or before class. So, I would then record myself, often without music, to give a breakdown of the exercises and explain in detail, some of the technicality and musicality for specific exercises. The recordings were raw, sometimes handheld and not as good as I would like it to be, however, it is good enough for the students to learn and practise at home.

This gives me the motivation to create properly edited videos, with my tips, hints and explanations for some of the exercises for the syllabus they are learning.
Everyone is different, with different body types and different learning ability. Through these videos, I am hoping that they will benefit students to:

  1. Have an overall knowledge of the RAD syllabus they are currently learning.

  2. Have a better understanding of the exercises in the syllabus, including the music, the musicality for that exercise, the counting and the performances aspect for that syllabus and exercises.

  3. Coordinate their whole body, how to move efficiently for certain steps and move and dance effectively by properly executing the steps so it becomes easy for them.

  4. Have a few training exercises to practise outside the classes to train their body, head, arms and legs to enforce muscle memory in their body.

  5. Be well-quipped, well-informed and confident in their exam, and eventually achieve good, better or even higher marks, and more importantly improve as a dancer in the technical aspect and performance aspect and dance better overall.
